Details of the IBMT's annual Len Crome Memorial Conference are now available. This year's conference will take place on Saturday 21 March at the University of Edinburgh in the George Square Conference Venue, George Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9LD.
The location is significant because the University of Edinburgh is the alma mater of the conference's eponym Dr Len Crome, a volunteer doctor who served with the International Brigades in Spain and was later chairman of the International Brigade Association.
The theme will be 'Scotland and the Spanish Civil War' and will feature talks from historian Fraser Raeburn (historian and author of the upcoming Scots and the Spanish Civil War) and writer Daniel Gray (writer, researcher, TV presenter and author of Homage to Caledonia: Scotland and the Spanish Civil War), as well as live music by Gallo Rojo at an evening concert. A guided tour of James Connolly's Edinburgh has also been planned for the Sunday morning.
Tickets are now on sale and can be booked at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/len-crome-memorial-conference-2020-ticke…
